• Host a Fundraising Event: with all proceeds going towards Telco Together. For example;
  • Sausage sizzle (at work, local sports club or home)
  • Trivia night
  • Garage sale

• Social Media Promotion: Use email, Facebook, Twitter and Linked In to promote your
  event. Post regular updates about your preparations and progress,
  (remember to always include a link to your fundraising page).

• Email Signature: Add a one-liner about your charity challenge to your work and/or personal email signature, including a link to your fundraising page.

Tips for Success
 

• Set a monthly target to help make reaching your target manageable.
• Keep fun at the forefront of all fundraising ideas and get creative.
• Think about how to incorporate a fundraising aspect into it activities you enjoy. If you love to bake, consider a bake sale. If tennis is your thing, create a Round Robin tournament.
• Set high goals – shoot for the stars and land on the moon – it doesn’t matter if you don’t quite make it.
• Prove your commitment by starting with a donation to yourself.
• A gold coin donation box in a prominent location is easy to set up & works well over time.
• Consider asking a local business or employer to match donations you raise.
• Remind potential sponsors that all donations over $2 are tax deductible!
• Post regular updates on social media about your event preparations, fundraising progress & cause supported, so that supporters are engaged & feel a part of your challenge.
• Tell people that 100% of funds raised will go directly to charities and their donation will support causes including homelessness, mental health, social inclusion and remote Indigenous communities of Australia.
• Send out reminders – most of us are busy and will forget about your cause, so make sure to send polite reminders as you approach the event deadline.
